Preschool curriculum

Creative Curriculum for Preschool aligns with Minnesota Early Childhood Indicators of Progress (ECIP)/ Minnesota kindergarten readiness standards. The early learning principles behind these indicators are the foundation of our preschool academic approach. We use a combination of child-centered activities that encourage independence, curiosity, self-exploration, including play and teacher-guided activities.

preschool development

Children follow their own individual developmental patterns, which may vary greatly from child to child.Typically children ages 33 months - 5 years learn best when they:

  • Feel safe and secure in their environment
  • Have reliable, compassionate and supportive teachers
  • Can connect what they are learning with past experiences and current interests
  • Have opportunities to explore and learn through play
  • Are provided with active learning opportunities
  • Have materials and equipment that will spark their interest

Our preschool program teaches foundational cognitive, physical, social, emotional and language skills aligned with the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress and state standards for early childhood education. Children will build on what they have learned in our toddler program, adding letter-sound relationships, sight word recognition, rhyming and basic mathematical functions. Children will also build on their knowledge of character, values and good citizenship.

Our Teachers facilitate the development of:
